Learning about Ireland
Mrs. Frutchey visited the class to share her knowledge of Ireland. We learned some Gaelic, touched real peat, and had a lively demonstration of Irish dancing! Thank you so much, Mrs. Frutchey!

We combined our celebration for December and January, since we only had two birthdays those months. The children enjoyed eating their healthy treats!

Holiday Happenings
We celebrated after our winter break this year, due to our snow day. The children decorated cookies, and then enjoyed eating them with some hot chocolate as they watched Polar Express. What a nice way to start the new year! Here are some photos of their creations.

Nutrition Stations
Mrs. Stewart and Mrs. Allen, two of our wonderful class parents, coordinated these amazing stations. Students learned what is really in the foods we eat, and got the opportunity to sample some healthy choices they had never tried before.

Welcome Miss Rigby
Welcome our new student teacher from Nazareth College on Monday October 27, 2008. Welcome Miss Rigby! She will be working with Mrs. Allen and the team until the middle of December.
We Miss You Miss Rigby
Miss Rigby's last day was December 12, 2008. She will be returning to Nazareth College to finish up her degree and graduate in May 2009. She came back to visit us with Miss Crain on December 18, 2008. It was wonderful to see them and they team read a great story to us. VIew our pictures from the surprise party. Good Luck Miss Rigby! Singing the National Anthem
Our team was chosen by our music teacher, Mrs. Lowe, to sing the Star Spangled Banner on the morning announcements. As one child commented afterwards, "It gave me goosebumps!"
