Our Class Election 2008
Our class had our own election today. Our class voted for John McCain. As this is being written it has been declared that Barack Obama has been declared our president for the next four years.

Culture
We have been studying culture and how cultures from other countries have an impact on how we celebrate, eat, play music, and do things to name a few. Culture is the way a group of people live and customs are the way people do certain things. Customs we discussed were ways our families celebrate the holidays throughout the year. A Taste Of Culture
June 12, 2009 was a day to remember in our class. With the help of 8 wonderful moms in our room we pulled together a day that gave us a jump start to be global citizens. We studied eight countries (continent) in teams; Team Italy, Team Ukraine, Team Africa, Team Holland, Team Germany, Team China, Team Mexico and Team Ireland. The moms made delicious foods from each country and taught us fun things that they knew about their country. They had tables set up with wonderful artifacts from each country, and even learned some Chinese writing. One of the presenters had worked in Rwanda, Africa and she had been a former student in our team when she was in third grade.
As teams we put together team Powerpoint presentations highlighting the geography, culture, government, history and economy of each country. Our presentations were set to music from each country.
A great day was had by all as we entered the auditorium with costumes from our countries. We ended our day with a song that we sang to unify our spirits. Listen to our podcast.
